JEP has commissioned the following essays and thought pieces to provoke discussion and action in response to the ethical dilemmas of our day. Sharing these resources does not imply agreement with all their conclusions. It is organised into the following sections:

  • A contribution from Professor David Hillel Ruben, emeritus professor of philosophy at Birkbeck College London, setting out the modern philosophical roots of Judaism’s rejection of moral relativism;

  • Advocacy from Elkan Adler for the essential but often neglected ethical call from the Tenach, our foundational text;
